CFC Mourns the Loss of Inaugural “Inspiration in Adversity” Recipient, Christine Sikora
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Christine Sikora, an extraordinary woman whose courage, generosity, and unwavering spirit left a profound impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Christine was the inaugural recipient of our Inspiration of Adversity Award, a recognition that only begins to reflect the strength and compassion she embodied throughout her life. After overcoming triple negative breast cancer in 2014 with the care of the Cleveland Clinic, she chose to use her journey as a source of strength for others. She later faced pancreatic cancer with the same bravery and grace - continuing to turn outward, offering hope, encouragement, and solidarity to the many individuals and families touched by this disease.
Christine’s life was a testament to resilience in the face of hardship and generosity in the face of fear. She showed us what it means to persevere, to care deeply, and to use one’s own struggles as a beacon of hope for others. Her legacy will forever inspire our mission and our hearts.
We are honored to have known her, grateful for the light she shared, and committed to carrying her spirit forward in our work every day. Our love and hearts go out to her family including her best friend, husband, and CFC Board Member, Bill Sikora.
